Dr. Brian Babka is a board certified sports medicine specialist. He was raised in the far western suburbs of Chicago. He grew up playing multiple sports, and he played soccer at Santa Clara University where he was a 1991 NCAA Division I National Championship Finalist.
He returned to the Chicago area to attend medical school. Some would argue he returned home because he missed good hot dogs, pizza, and especially Chicago winters. He received his medical degree from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine, and he completed his residency in family medicine and fellowship in sports medicine at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.
He is board certified in family medicine and sports medicine. However, his current practice primarily focuses on sports medicine. His background in family medicine makes him uniquely qualified to treat “the whole athlete.” His clinical interests include sports physicals, musculoskeletal injuries, overuse injuries, sport/work injuries, arthritis, exercise-induced asthma, medical issues affecting athletic performance, “return to play” issues, endurance athletes, and exercise and nutrition.
He has presented multiple sports medicine topics both locally and nationally. He is a team physician for US Soccer and several local colleges. Dr. Babka is committed to promoting and encouraging healthy, active lifestyles. He, himself, remains a recreational athlete, playing soccer for the St. Charles Celtics and running with his dog. |
